Description:
The Richmond Depot Type #2 Shell Jacket, issued between mid-1862 and mid-1864, is often referred to as a ‘Mid War’ jacket and is recognized for its distinctive epaulettes and belt loops. This version features hand-stitched details on the epaulettes, belt loops, buttonholes, front, hem, sleeve hem, and collar, providing a unique, handcrafted look. The jacket has a 6-piece body and 2-piece sleeves, with a 9-button front featuring CSA buttons. The front hem is square-cut, and the back hem is straight across, completing the traditional military design. Lined with cotton for comfort, the jacket also includes one inside pocket. Available in either Gray or Brown Jean Wool, this jacket is a staple of the Army of Northern Virginia style.
